I’ve done some work on the Twitter Updater plugin, and this is the page it will live on for now.
The Twitter Updater Plugin automatically updates your twitter status with the title and link when you create/edit a WordPress post. You can customize the tweet that is sent, choose the URL Shortening service you prefer. You can choose for the tweet to be generated on new posts or when you edit a post.
The original plugin was created by ‘VictoriaC’ but was then updated many times by ‘Johnathan Dingman’ as well as ‘Ingoal’. I’ve just put a page here because I keep updating it and use it regularly that I need to keep some information here.
The following is the latest version.
**NOTE*** Twitter Updater has been renamed to TweetUpdater that is being developed by myself and DefProc. It will be within the WordPress Plugin directory. Right now its only available for download through GitHub.

- ZZ.gd broke with 403 forbidden error, fixed with setting different user agent.
- Move menu to "Settings".
- Added option under configuration to choose ZZ.gd or TinyURL. Added 1 function.
- Re-worked the code for url shortening services, change in one place instead of three. Created a function instead.
which makes it easier to add more services if necessary. Bit.ly support in the future?

Dear, I have a problem with this plugin. I’m a Chinese blogger, and when I post a new post in Chinese, this plugin submits it to the twitter not normally. But when I post a English one, it’s OK. It seems it doesn’t use the utf-8 encode to submit to twitter. Pls tell me how to fix it? Many thanks.
Kaol, It should be outputting using UTF8, as per the code. However, if you’re using friendly URL’s this might cause issues. I looked and you’re not using friendly URL’s. So I’m going to look into this further.
Hi,
I install your plugin, there is a error when i fill twitter account details & push the save option, twitter user email saved but password not saved, still showing blank. will i add password direct in php file? if yes where i place my password?

Siraj,
This plugin is no longer supported. It will be continued as TweetUpdater.

Try the lastest version available via Download. If you have any problems let me know or post on GitHub.
Siraj, I had the same worry when I first installed TwitterUpdater, but there is no problem. TwitterUpdater has saved the password and username for use, but it doesn’t show the password on the form.
If you’ve clicked “save login”, then it has them both, it just doesn’t show the password. If you edit or create a post, it will send tweets as expected.
It might be a good idea for us to include a confirmation in the TweetUpdater 3.0 release.

OK, version 3.0 is now released, and we’re in the WordPress Plugin Database: wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tweetupdater.
