Rumors of new Gnash functionality exaggerated

This really sucks. When I use Debin I have to install the flash player for FireFox from a different source you get all your other applications within Debian. This is done by modifying the apt-get configuration file. Other Distribution’s you have to download the linux plugin from Adobe and install it manually.

Rumors of new Gnash functionality exaggerated

A free Flash viewer is one of the last major gaps in GNU/Linux desktop functionality, so last week’s news that Gnash, the free Flash player, had reached the stage where it could play YouTube and Lulu.tv videos seemed too good to be true. Unfortunately, it was.

Flock 0.9 lands gracefully

I remember first hearing about flock. I actually got a version of it when it was just skinned to look different than FireFox. I didn’t expect the project to get this far. Give it a wirl, looks to be promising.

Flock 0.9 lands gracefully

The Flock project has been building a "social Web browser" since 2005. The upcoming Flock 0.9 release adds new blogging features, integrates media streams into the browser, and includes an overhaul of the Flock bookmark system. It’s not perfect yet, but Flock 0.9 is a big leap forward.

Error’d: More Like Didgeridon’t! 4G Australian Time Zone Application

Error'd: More Like Didgeridon't!

If you were tasked with building a time zone synching application, you could probably do it in less than 1MB. Maybe you Linux guys could write it in one line of Perl (or at least brag about having the ability to write it in one line of Perl). Hell, maybe you’d just use the built-in synching functionality in your favorite OS. Anyhow, I can’t imagine the crazy Western Australian rules for calculating time that make this software baloon to 4GB.

Sony’s back: shifting from “recovery to profitable growth” — 380 new PS3 games

I still think that the PS3 will come back to haunt us all. Although I’m not a console gamer, but rather strictly a PC Gamer I have always loved the PS titles I played at my friends house. But I have see the graphics for the Xbox 360 and they look just amazing. Wait for the new GTA and THPS to see if the PS3 will rise from the grave it has been placed into by the console community.

Sony's back: shifting from "recovery to profitable growth" — 380 new PS3 games

Howard Stringer — Sony Corp’s CEO and man with the plan — just exited stage-left from Sony’s annual shareholder meeting in Tokyo. To say that the 6,000 attendees were skeptical of said plan would be an understatement given a year of fiscal losses, job cuts, PS3 under-performance (with an eventual Kutaragi dismissal), and an embarrassing and dangerous recall of some 10 million batteries among other missteps. Still, Howard stood strong, assuring investors that Sony has made the swtich from “recovery to profitable growth” and will be a “dominant company” in the digital age. So what’s the plan?

Technonia announces Slimline DAP

Do you like Slim Mp3 Players? Well this DAP is what you want in your pocket while rocking out at the bus stop waiting to catch a ride to work.

Technonia announces Slimline DAP

While we’re pretty sure the world doesn’t need too many more thin, black MP3 players, Korean manufacturer Technonia thinks otherwise. The company has announced a rather MPIO-ish portable audio player — the 7.5mm thick Slimline. This little guy does pretty much everything you’d expect from something in its class, and really, truly nothing you wouldn’t. Those things include playing MP3 and WMV files, tuning in FM radio, and displaying your images on its 1.5-inch OLED screen. 1GB unit on sale by the end of the month in Korea for 90,000KRW (or about $97US).

Can SEO Exist within Drupal?

Good, but outdated article dealing with SEO and Drupal. I have adopted most of the modules and changes listed on this site. You also want to make sure that you use the Google Webmaster Tools, they’re your friend and will guide you to success.

I began the Devbee website back in March as a way to help others by way of documenting what I have learned about Drupal and also to drum up a little bit of business for myself. The content of this site is extremely targeted, and I don’t ever expect to see more than a few hundred visits a day. This definitely does not reflect the expectations, or at least hopes, of most website owners. It’s typically all about bringing in as many visitors as possible to generate money through advertising or purchases. Sites interested in bringing in large numbers of visitors typically do this by spending a lot of time focusing on “search engine optimization” (SEO). Absolutely nothing can drive traffic to a site like a top placement in the search results on one of the major search engines.
