Fortier & Co. Makes Stylin’ Body Armor

Fortier & Co. Makes Stylin’ Body Armor – Those of our readers who are aspiring rap artists should pay close attention. Frontier & Co. works with big name clothing designers like Burberry, YSL, Kenneth Cole, etc. to design body armor that blends in naturally with your apparel. Take for instance this beautiful trenchcoat from Burberry. It uses ballistic fibers that are stronger than steel, yet lightweight, to protect you from oncoming bullets. It also doubles as an incredibly handsome coat. Unfortunately, protection and style do not come cheap. The aforementioned coat will set you back $2195 for the basic model. That means you could end up spending some serious cash if you’re worried about being taken out by an AK-47. Fortier & Co. Body Armor [Luxist] [CrunchGear]

The most essential Firefox Extensions for Webmasters

If you're a hard core HTML/CSS/PHP hacker, this list will come in handy. It has lots and lots of tools that will help you with the average day hacking. Some will shave off minutes from development time and other hours.
Essential List on Firefox Extensions for Webmaster The Essential List and Resources on Firefox Extensions is a popular post here, due to one reason - Firefox has too many extensions and it is difficult and time consuming for a user who just wanted to install some cool extensions to get started on their Firefox journey. Because our original list was more toward normal and daily usage - and being a part time webmaster and blogger, I want to introduce some of the extensions I used to assist my webmaster responsibilities and tasks. Oh yes, I will only display extensions that save my web developing time for other tasks and projects in my life. Same drill here - I am going to list some must have, should have and good to have extensions, based on my experience and usage:

Technonia announces Slimline DAP -

While we're pretty sure the world doesn't need too many more thin, black MP3 players, Korean manufacturer Technonia thinks otherwise. The company has announced a rather MPIO-ish portable audio player -- the 7.5mm thick Slimline. This little guy does pretty much everything you'd expect from something in its class, and really, truly nothing you wouldn't. Those things include playing MP3 and WMV files, tuning in FM radio, and displaying your images on its 1.5-inch OLED screen. 1GB unit on sale by the end of the month in Korea for 90,000KRW (or about $97US).

[Thanks, Doom]

MySQL and OpenSSL Replication what a mess!

Just a heads up, if you do decide to enable OpenSSL so you can do encrypted MySQL replication. There are two bugs that will affect replication and the mysqldump command. They're as follows: Bug #24148 regression tests hang with SSL enabled http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=24148 http://lists.mysql.com/commits/17286 Bug #27669 mysqldump: Got error: 2026: SSL connection error when trying to connect http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=27669 http://lists.mysql.com/commits/24329 This may cause lots of problems with MySQL and SSL Replication using OpenSSL. Cheers!

iriver’s UNIT2 detailed on teaser site

One of the sexist and functional MP3 devices I've seen yet. The iPod had its time, and even the smallest iPod is really sexy. But this is just over the top.

Mmm, there's nothing like fragmented high-resolution photos of a lust-worthy device to get us salivating, and iriver's marketing department has done an exquisite job figuring that out. Shortly after unveiling the sexiest e-dictionary known to man, the much anticipated UNIT2 conglomerate received its own teaser site, complete with photos and a few extra details you should know. While it has yet to lose its mystique, we now know (officially, at least) that the base will act as a DVD player, TV tuner, access point, charging station, hard drive, and a speaker station. Aside from sporting an SD slot and USB connectivity, this beauty will handle music, movies, photos, eBooks, and WiFi streaming without breaking a sweat. Mechanically, you can expect an automatic sliding door, detachable display, slot-loaded CD / DVD deck, and a 78-key controller to manage the fun. No word yet on the price, but be sure to peek the additional photos below.
