Boeing’s unmanned A160T Hummingbird helicopter takes flight

Not the first Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) made. But the Boeing A160HT Humming Bird should be one of the best once further tests and simulation in combat missions is completed.

It's been a few ticks since we've seen Boeing send an atypical aircraft into the friendly skies, but the firm's latest helicopter has successfully completed a 12-minute test flight without so much as a pilot on board. The A160T Hummingbird unmanned rotorcraft is a turbine-powered "warfighter" that aims to provide "intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance coverage" in locales that could make even the most calloused veteran queasy. During its time in the air, it reportedly met every objective set for it, and while we've no idea how soon this thing will be lifting itself up, it'll eventually reach speeds of up to 140 knots and stay airborne for up to 20 hours before returning to base for a pat on the wing.

WoW Database Site Sells for $1 Million - MattHock writes "Wowhead (a WoW information database) has to ZAM (Affinity Media) for the price of $1 Million. ZAM is the owner of several other WoW databases, including Thottbot and Allakhazam. Until recently Affinity was also the owner of IGE, a highly controversial company that sold in-game wealth for real life money. Affinity recently sold IGE, which Wowhead claims as the reason they allowed the sale to go through. But did ZAM really sell IGE? The blogger who put this story online doubts that IGE and ZAM have actually distanced themselves. He believes that the supposed sale was just actually a means of restructuring to hide the relationship, similar to how IGE's relationship to Thottbot was hidden for a number of months through a convoluted set of parent companies."

This is awesome. I recently took a trick to Las Vegas, and wondered about all of the the neat hardware that runs the screens and lights.

Surely, you’ve seen the commercials and are familiar with Las Vegas’ First-Commandment / Clever-Marketing-Tagline: What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. I suppose we can bend that rule today and share a couple pictures that Christopher Kimbell snapped while he was walking down the strip…

As for the rest of the pictures that Chris found on his camera after his vacation? I think we'll just leave those in Vegas…
