The iPhone team has just released a method to downgrade the baseband firmware on the v1.1.1 iPhones. Which means that if you disabled/bricked this portion previously using anySIM or iUnlock during the upgrade, then you can restore the functionality.

iPhone v1.1.1 baseband downgrade released – For those following this stuff religiously: the iPhone “Elite” Team has released a method to downgrade the baseband on v1.1.1 iPhones. Ok, that basically means if you accidentally disabled the phone end of your iPhone with anySIM or iUnlock during the upgrade (or just decided v1.0.2 is where it’s at), now you can revert to the last working version and restore order to your iPhone’s wayward cell radio. Right, for free without paying iPhoneSimFree a cent for their unbricking solution. Alright, maybe you don’t care about any of this stuff — honestly, we don’t blame you. Anyway, it’s out there, so for those in the crowd who’ve been waiting for this — and judging by our tips, that’s a lot of you — enjoy.

We'd probably be more inclined to gripe about iriver stringing us along like this -- five gadgets, five days, hardly any hard facts -- if there wasn't so much sexy to the devices and photographs the DAP manufacturer is tossing up every 24 hours or so. Today's gadget is the iriver W10, a slim little touchscreen number we got to play with at CES, which seems to swipe some of the iPhone's interface ideas for touchscreen VoIP dialing, while still sticking with those WPS (WiFi positioning system) and PDA / e-book / PMP features we heard about before. We wish we had more to tell you, like price or a release date, but two things are certain: iriver seems bent on swiping every gadget dollar we've ever stashed, and is singlehandedly keeping the hand modelling industry in business.

I actually thought I was addicted to Video Games, but then I woke up one morning and started to install Drupal. Now my addiction has moved to playing around with Drupal and Blogging. :(

The American Medical Association is taking steps to classify Internet and video game addiction as an actual medical condition. A vote is scheduled next week where members will decide whether or not to officially apply the “addiction” label. Bah, addictions are good for people. They help build character, at least the fun ones do.

In all seriousness, how many stories have we seen about some guy essentially giving up his real life to exclusively live a Second Life or to level up his Blood Elf until he passes out? Sure, this article points out that public scares like “they’re listening to too much rock music” or “rap encourages and celebrates the thug lifestyle” are common in American history, but video game and Internet addiction certainly seems to exist, at least anecdotally.
