Windows Live Photo Gallery 2008 12.0.1193.815 Beta

Microsoft is pumping out more free software for the masses. I’ve never heard or seen Windows Live Photo Gallery, but I thought about downloading and installing this application to give it a whirl. During the install, I asked to install a bunch more Windows Live applications. Specifically the Mail component, since my MSN account is attached to my Hotmail. After installing everything, I ran the Windows Live Photo Gallery, and it was pretty amazing.

During the install, I asked to install a bunch more Windows Live applications. Specifically the Mail component, since my MSN account is attached to my Hotmail. After installing everything, I ran the Windows Live Photo Gallery, and it was pretty amazing.

I downloaded “WLinstaller.exe” which is the Windows Live installer, more or less, it looks like a framework for all Windows Live Applications and is not just specific to Windows Live Photo Gallery.

Volvo treasure hunt delayed after locating $500 million instead -

Filed under:

In an interesting turn of events, it seems like the winner of Volvo's lucrative treasure hunt won't be unearthing the $50,000 treasure anytime soon, as the automaker's hunt partner (Odyssey Marine Exploration) has happened upon an actual $500 million treasure instead. The reported fortune is located somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean -- in a secretive area known only as Black Swan -- but reports are claiming that a court in the Spanish coastal town of La Linea has "issued an order for the Spanish Guardia Civil to detain any Odyssey vessel should it leave the port of Gibraltar," which has brought about an abrupt halt to Volvo's retrieval plans. Thankfully, it sounds like the Russian winner will still be awarded the dough and a new XC70 to boot, but there's no telling how long it'll be before Odyssey is able to put aside its bigger worries and dig up the (comparatively) paltry $50k.

A review of “Why I Don’t Use WordPress”

A small review of Movable Type 4 and WordPress, its mostly talking about why the person switched from WordPress to Movable Type 4 and how Movable Type 4 worked for this person.
Why I Don't Use WordPress - You may be surprised to hear that this blog does not run on WordPress- like much of the blogosphere- but rather, Movable Type 4. I've given WordPress plenty of chances to be my CMS of choice, but for my own blog, it just doesn't cut it for me. [Digg Main]

Iran.com sold for $400,000

I got this link from a friend over MSN, interesting read, almost over a million dollars spent on domains.

Rick Latona of DigiPawn.com went on a spending spree this week and more than half a million dollars later he was the proud new owner of Iran.com ($400,000), TrackAndField.com ($57,000), Territory.com ($30,000) and Gutter.com ($12,500). The first three names all landed on the top half of our new Top 20 chart and Gutter.com just missed making the Big Board. All four names were acquired in private transactions. In addition to being the biggest sale reported this week, Iran.com is the 6th biggest sale reported so far in 2007.
