Sony’s back: shifting from “recovery to profitable growth” — 380 new PS3 games

I still think that the PS3 will come back to haunt us all. Although I’m not a console gamer, but rather strictly a PC Gamer I have always loved the PS titles I played at my friends house. But I have see the graphics for the Xbox 360 and they look just amazing. Wait for the new GTA and THPS to see if the PS3 will rise from the grave it has been placed into by the console community. To say that the 6,000 attendees were skeptical of said plan would be an understatement given a year of fiscal losses, job cuts, PS3 under-performance (with an eventual Kutaragi dismissal), and an embarrassing and dangerous recall of some 10 million batteries among other missteps. Still, Howard stood strong, assuring investors that Sony has made the swtich from “recovery to profitable growth” and will be a “dominant company” in the digital age. So what’s the plan? Annoyed, hospitalized teen unplugs neighbor’s life support

Annoyed, hospitalized teen unplugs neighbor's life support -

Filed under:

It should probably go without saying that anything connected to a power source within the confines of a hospital has a fair shot at being pertinent to the livelihood of at least one individual, but obviously a 17-year old teenager in Germany needed the memo. After the perpetual noise of what would prove to be his neighbor's life support machine "got on his nerves," he proceeded to simply unplug the device without precaution in order to ensure that "he got his peace and quiet." Of course, we can only assume that the sirens and squeals that were emitted due to his misreckoning were immensely louder than the prior hum, but some folks just love to learn the hard way. Thankfully, medical personnel stepped in and saved the man from perishing, but the teen at fault lost a lot more sleep after that whilst being questioned by police.

Video of iPhone Sim Free Unbricking and Unlocking (Verdict: It Works)

A video of the jail breaking and installation of 3rd party applications, but nothing about the activation and if you can use non AT&T SIM's. Still a pretty neat video.
Video of iPhone Sim Free Unbricking and Unlocking (Verdict: It Works) - We have tested iPhone Sim Free claims and they work. It still not a process for the faint of heart, as it requires using command line-voodoo for the jailbreak and activation, but it works perfectly. Our iPhone is now completely unlocked and open for apps now under Apple's latest firmware.

ZFS On Linux – It’s Alive!

This is just lovely. A file system that can take automatic snap shots!
ZFS On Linux - It's Alive! - lymeca writes "LinuxWorld reports that Sun Microsystem's ZFS filesystem has been converted from its incarnation in OpenSolaris to a module capable of running in the Linux user-space filsystem project, FUSE. Because of the license incompatibilities with the Linux kernel, it has not yet been integrated for distribution within the kernel itself. This project, called ZFS on FUSE, aims to enable GNU/Linux users to use ZFS as a process in userspace, bypassing the legal barrier inherent in having the filesystem coded into the Linux kernel itself. Booting from a ZFS partition has been confirmed to work. The performance currently clocks in at about half as fast as XFS, but with all the success the NTFS-3g project has had creating a high performance FUSE implementation of the NTFS filesystem, there's hope that performance tweaking could yield a practical elimination of barriers for GNU/Linux users to make use of all that ZFS has to offer."
