Jet packs for sale! Life insurance sold separately

Jet packs for sale! Life insurance sold separately – Filed under: Transportation, Wearables It looks like those still bemoaning the lack of readily-available jet packs can now finally get a (brief) taste of the 21st century they once envisioned, as Popular Mechanics reports that two different wearable flying contraptions are now available for sale. Coming from Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana and Jetpack International, the jet packs will each give you about 30 seconds of flight time, with Jetpack International’s model boasting a slight advantage in speed, topping out at 70 mph. Somewhat reassuringly, each also come complete with the necessary flight training, although we wouldn’t expect any less given the $250,000 and $155,000 price tags. Those that take the plunge may be suffering from some buyer’s remorse before too long, however, as Jetpack International is reportedly working on a new model that’ll give you a full 19 minutes of flight time.   Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments Office Depot Featured Gadget: Xbox 360 Platinum System Packs the power to bring games to life! We'd probably be more inclined to gripe about iriver stringing us along like this -- five gadgets, five days, hardly any hard facts -- if there wasn't so much sexy to the devices and photographs the DAP manufacturer is tossing up every 24 hours or so. Today's gadget is the iriver W10, a slim little touchscreen number we got to play with at CES, which seems to swipe some of the iPhone's interface ideas for touchscreen VoIP dialing, while still sticking with those WPS (WiFi positioning system) and PDA / e-book / PMP features we heard about before. We wish we had more to tell you, like price or a release date, but two things are certain: iriver seems bent on swiping every gadget dollar we've ever stashed, and is singlehandedly keeping the hand modelling industry in business.

Speed up Google Analytics with a local urchin.js

Over at the Ask Apache site there is an article about Google Analytics and how to speed up your page load. You can read it here: Speed Up Google Analytics with Urchin.js
Ever notice that sometimes your sites take a while to load all the way because google's urchin.js file is taking forever? You may recognize this problem when you see something similar to this in your browsers status bar "Transferring data from google-analytics.com..." Time To Setup? 4 minutes I got tired of seeing that all the time and so I set up an automated cronjob that runs every 12 hours and downloads the latest version from google, and saves it to my website directory, then I reference /urchin.js instead of http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js.. and my site loads a lot faster!
