Sandboxie 3.02: Isolate harmful websites through IE and Firefox

Sandboxie will isolate the outcome of any website you visit, including any software or script installations, which can then be undone.

Sandboxie will isolate the outcome of any website you visit, including any software or script installations, which can then be undone.

Sandboxie requires neither the disabling nor blocking of functions available to Web sites through the browser. Instead, Sandboxie isolates and quarantines the outcome of whatever the Web site may do to your computer, including the installation of unsolicited software. There is no trade-off of functionality for security: the Web site can use the full range of active content tools, and if it uses these tools maliciously to install software or otherwise make changes in your computer, then these changes can be easily undone.

Sandboxie has originally been designed to increase the security of browsing with Internet Explorer, however it is just as effective with any other browser, and in fact, any other program. Sandboxie wraps a protection layer around the programs it supervises. It is this layer that intercepts and isolates any changes the programs make to the computer. And this layer is impartial to the specific program it wraps.

Sandboxie is a software that allows you isolates and quarantines website.

When you browse the web, changes occur to your computer system. Most of the time these changes are harmless, like recording the addresses of web sites you have visited (and when), so the browser can help you complete a web address that you type in. Whether these changes are harmless or harmful, they do in fact happen to your computer system.

When you use Sandboxie to protect your browsing session, it catches all these changes just as the browser is about to apply them into your computer system. Sandboxie does record these changes on behalf of the browser, but it records them in a special isolated folder, called the sandbox.

The benefit of having a sandbox is that it ensures your ability to get rid of all changes done by the browser, simply by deleting the sandbox folder.

Another useful feature of Sandboxie is the ability to terminate all sandboxed programs at once. As some web sites tend to pop up three new browser windows for each one you close, you can have Sandboxie close all of them with a click of a button.

You may use Sandboxie free of charge for any length of time that you desire. However, if you use Sandboxie for more than 30 days, the software will occasionally remind you to consider paying the registration fee. By doing that, you would show your support for further development and improvement of Sandboxie.

By paying the registration fee of $20 US-dollars you get a life-time registration key to this and and all upcoming versions of the Sandboxie product.

WWDC Leopard Beta Leaked Onto BitTorrent Site

I haven't seen this on any private trackers that I'm on. It looks like it hasn't fully been leaked. Either way, I want to install this and try it out. I am definitely liking OSX more and more as they keep adding features and GUI improvements.
WWDC Leopard Beta Leaked Onto BitTorrent Site -

leooinkleaked.jpg

It looks like the WWDC beta of Leopard was leaked onto the Oink BitTorrent Web site. (I’m not about to download it, though, that’s for sure.) Here’s a screen shot. And another. And another. That last one made me laugh. Oops!

Nobody’s completely downloaded the 6GB file yet, but the site’s forum is red hot with activity and the file already has 205 comments. Choice lines about the leak in recent days have included “this is f*#$ing ridiculous. i want leopard, and i want it now. hurry, before some heads start to roll” and “Please do not talk about this torrent file outside of OINK.”

Someone should notify Apple.

It’s $30 for an upgrade to the WM6 version but if you’ve been using the WM5 version for a while now, it’s a free upgrade for you.

Notepad++ v4.1 released

Notepad++ v4.1 released - Notepad++ is a free generic source code editor (and Notepad replacement), which supports several programming languages, running under the MS Windows environment. The version 4.1 is available. In this release not only the interface of Find in files dialog is improved distinctly, but find, replace and find in files dialogs are now 3 in 1. The version 1.73 of Scintilla include the CMake lexer. And just by chance, I worked a lot with CMake recently at work, so I updated Scintilla from v1.71 to v1.73, and supports the language of CMake. CMakeLists.txt is also available for the source code of Notepad++ (in "src" directory). It's tested only with the generation of VC project file, but not with the generation of MinGW makefile. 3 new plugins are added in this release : SpellChecker, NppExec and QuickText. SpellChecker help you to corect the tipos in your document. You should have aspell instaled to make it work. With NppExec plugin you can execute your commands or saved scripts without leaving Notepad++. It makes you triple your productivity! QuickText is a snippet manager. Once you define all your snippet in you beloved language, type the macro keyword then Ctrl+Enter - I can hear you say "wow". Another new feature is the clickable URL (http only). It's rather a gadget, but I like it. v4.1 fixed bugs and added features (from v4.0.2) : 1. Fix the crash issue while saving settings on quit. 2. Fix the crash issue while using the command line with one launched Notepad++ instance. 3. Enhance Find in files feature : * Improve Find in files user interface (more intuitive). * The search result (also for find in all opened files) is docked on the bottom of Notepad++. * Recursive search is optional. * Search result is collapsable by file. * User defined keywords for search result. 4. Add tabbing interface in Find dialog : Find/Replace/Find in files 5. Add clickable URL http link feature (double click to trigger). 6. Add cmake language support. 7. Add mark all without launching Find dialog (Ctrl+M). 8. Fix the ROFL (Recent Opened File List) bug : try to open a non-existing file from ROFL, the full file path doesn't be removed from ROFL. 9. Enhance the backup feature : in verbose mode, the file will be backed up in .\nppBackup directory. 10. Update Scintilla component to v1.73 For further information about this project, see : http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/ and the project page : http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/ Don
