KDE 4 Beta 3 – Screenshot Tour

A rather in-depth screenshot tour of the new KDE 4 beta 3 booted from a LiveCD. Stephan Binner has released a new version of his KDE Four Live CD. This version uses a recent SVN snapshot and works quite well. While I had some trouble testing the newest KDE 4 Beta release on my test machine, the KDE Four LiveCD works surprisingly well. Rumors of new Gnash functionality exaggerated

This really sucks. When I use Debin I have to install the flash player for FireFox from a different source you get all your other applications within Debian. This is done by modifying the apt-get configuration file. Other Distribution's you have to download the linux plugin from Adobe and install it manually.

Comcast traffic blocking: even more apps, groupware clients affected

More information about the supposed filters that Comcast has implemented to curb Bittorrent traffic on its network. Only now it looks as though the appplication suit Lotus Notes is affected.
Last week, we reported on mounting evidence that Comcast is targeting and disrupting BitTorrent traffic on its network. Further digging by interested parties has turned up more indication that BitTorrent isn't the only popular P2P protocol being tampered with by the United States' largest ISP.
