I was wondering the web looking at random items, when I came along an article at http://www.worldwidecreations.com titled Stopping spam before the door with SpamCop and IPTables Its a great article with a lot of information and code on how the author is able to grab the offending hosts and place them within IPTables.

Its a great article with a lot of information and code on how the author is able to grab the offending hosts and place them within IPTables.

One thing that I really can’t agree with is the use of IPTables to block mail traffic from an RBL that has in the past and present block many legitimate hosts and email. I’d rather have spam to my account marked as spam so that I can be the judge and correct any false positives. At the moment, all my mail using using Exim with sa-exim (SMTP time spamassassin scanning). This allows for messages to be bounced back at SMTP time!

What is everyone else using for an MTA and how are you filtering spam?

Now this is actually kinda sad, getting ripped off twice and then getting store credit each time would get a lot of people worked up. Shame on Target for not giving a refund, and instead giving in-store credit.
I wanna rock (rock) your iPod - Usually, Target is pretty lax with returning shit. You come back three days later with a slightly used toaster oven, no receipt and they’ll give you a full refund. Not the case however, for one 14-year-old girl who received an iPod as a gift. Purchased at one of the retail giant’s stores, the girl went to open her iPod, only to discover the box was filled with rocks. Yes, rocks, making it the worst present you could possibly receive.

Things must seem pretty rosy in Cupertino -- just a week before the mega-hyped launch of you-know-what, market research group NPD's quarterly survey shows Apple has passed Amazon to become the third biggest music retailer in the US. This isn't the biggest of surprises, since Steve himself predicted that the iTunes Store would overtake Amazon at the Showtime event back in September, but the leap to #3 is a little unexpected, since Apple also outpaced Target last quarter. iTunes is now rocking a 10% market share, just behind Wal-Mart at 16% and Best Buy at 14%, and while we don't expect to see it pass those two giants anytime soon, we'd bet that uptick in DRM-free sales has got the iTMS crew at Apple licking their chops.

Comcast traffic blocking: even more apps, groupware clients affected

More information about the supposed filters that Comcast has implemented to curb Bittorrent traffic on its network. Only now it looks as though the appplication suit Lotus Notes is affected.
Last week, we reported on mounting evidence that Comcast is targeting and disrupting BitTorrent traffic on its network. Further digging by interested parties has turned up more indication that BitTorrent isn't the only popular P2P protocol being tampered with by the United States' largest ISP.
