OfficeSpot.Net Collaboration Server Preview 2 (Default branch)

This application suite is quite the AIO (All in One). I have used eGroupware, and was a joy. I was trying to find more projects to create in it than actually using it to manage them. This is defiantly an application you want to check out and play around with. OfficeSpot.Net Collaboration Server Preview 2 (Default branch) – The OfficeSpot.Net Collaboration Server is a one-stop solution for all your groupware needs. It is based on Ubuntu 6.06 LTS and is preloaded with eGroupWare, Postfix, OpenLDAP, MySQL, DBMail, Spamassasin, and ClamAV. License: GNU General Public License (GPL) Changes: This release contains updated versions of eGroupWare (1.4), DBMail (latest stable SVN revision), and ClamAV (0.90.3). The installation process was streamlined and the online documentation was updated. [FreshMeat]

Hard times for hard drives: US may ban popular imports

This could be a damaging blow to quite a few companies within the United States. For instance, take a dedicated server hosting company that relies on one of many hardware vendors like Dell or HP (Hewlett-Packard). Its possible that said vendor will have stock pile of hard drives. Put lets put this into perspective. If you read the entire article you will see a similar situation that ended with Broadcom filing a complaint against Qualcomm. The International Trade Commission banned Qualcomm from shipping any new chips and hardware into the United Sates, and any chips that were already being shipped to the United States could continue. The ban lasted for 45 days, until an appeal by Qualcomm was successful and then the ban was lifted.

Want a Google Reader equivalent, then check out Tiny Tiny RSS 1.2.12

When I firsted looked at the this application, I thought it was going to look ugly and have no functionallity. I mean after looking at Google Reader and using it for some time, it really was another good Google Application. And it was made to make it easy to read and sort RSS feeds. One look at the demo, and I was hooked. It has some common features that Google Reader does, starred items and labels. I just wonder if you can plop and authentication/user account creation on it so that you can offer your own branded reader similar to Googles. TinyTiny RSS 1.2.12 Demo!

Microsoft Pleads With Consumers to Adopt Vista Now

I for one am currently at torn between XP and Vista. I like XP because it doesn't crash, my drivers work. However, more people keep asking for help with Vista, and I haven't even logged into a Vista Machine yet. :(
Microsoft Pleads With Consumers to Adopt Vista Now - SlinkySausage writes "Microsoft has admitted, in an email to the press, that 'some customers may be waiting to adopt Windows Vista because they've heard rumors about device or application compatibility issues, or because they think they should wait for a service pack release.' The company is now pleading with customers not to wait until the release of SP1 at the end of the year, launching a 'fact rich' program to try to convince them to 'proceed with confidence'. The announcement coincides with an embarrassing double-backflip: Microsoft had pre-briefed journalists that it was going to allow home users to run Vista basic and premium under virtual machines like VMWare, but it changed its mind at the last minute and pulled the announcement."
