Should companies that are already providing Joomla! components commercially be forced to move to an GPL (open source) based model? There are many start up companies that provide a feature/component that Joomla! never had to begin with, for an inexpensive fee. There are also people that have modules that have been created to be free! Should this change? Should all Joomla! components be open source? Is another split going to happen? It goes in-depth into what you would need to change on a base MediaWiki configuration to only allow registered users to see the content within the Wiki. After following all the steps I know am able to login to my private Wiki over SSL! Thus allowing me to keep all my private and important notes online!

Apple notes it is the only player one of two players in WiFi enabled smart phones offering expanded reach when cell coverage is, well, not so good. This week, NEC was issued a related patent on wirelessly downloading files by selecting between cellular or WiFi networks reminding us that the iPhone is going to launch with so many cool features, and will most happily step on some toes in doing so.
